This policy explains how Instasure.ca (“Instasure.ca”, “we”) handles personal information. We follow the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial laws, including Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).

What we collect

  • Estimate inputs you enter (for example age, province, coverage amount). Estimates do not require your name or contact details.
  • Contact details when you request a quote, a review or a saved quote: name, email, phone, postal code.
  • Sensitive information such as smoking status or health-related answers, only when needed for the product you ask about and only with your consent.
  • Usage data: pages visited and anonymous analytics. Persistent analytics identifiers are set only after you accept cookies.

Why we use it

  • To calculate estimates and show results.
  • To connect you with one advisor licensed in your province for the product you asked about, and to let that advisor respond to your request.
  • To send the estimate or saved quote you requested, and — only with your express consent — reminders and helpful information by email. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To improve the site, prevent fraud and meet legal obligations.

Who we share it with

  • The licensed advisor or brokerage handling your request, and — if you choose to apply — the insurer(s) needed to provide quotes or coverage.
  • Service providers that host our systems or send email for us, under contracts requiring them to protect your information.
  • We never sell personal information.

Retention

We keep lead information for as long as needed to respond to your request and for up to 24 months afterwards for record-keeping, unless the law requires longer. You can ask us to delete your information sooner.

Your rights

You can request access to or correction of your personal information, withdraw consent, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@instasure.ca. Quebec residents have additional rights under Law 25, including data portability and information about automated decisions.

Cookies

We use first-party analytics (no third-party ad trackers). Persistent cookies are set only if you click Accept on our cookie notice. If you decline, we count page views anonymously without identifying your device.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS). Access is limited to staff and advisors who need it to serve you.
